Beloved,
today I want to talk about something simple, something beautiful, and something deeply true about God.
Something many of us have never thought about, but which sits quietly behind every promise Jesus ever made.
Here it is:
God has more ways to give life than the world has ways to take it.
And because of that, death is not the end, sickness is not the end, mistakes are not the end, and tragedy is not the end.
Let’s walk through this slowly.
1. The World We See Is Not the Only Story God Can Write
Most of us think of life like a straight road.
You live, you walk the road, and then you die, and the road ends.
But God’s view is not like ours.
God is not standing on the road.
He made the road.
He can lift you up, move you forward, or bring you into a completely different place.
Think of a skilled gardener.
If a plant grows in the wrong spot—too much shade, too many weeds—
the gardener doesn’t throw it away.
He gently lifts it out and plants it where it can thrive.
That is what God does with people.
2. Jesus Raised People by Moving Them Into Better Stories
Let’s look at the miracles.
When Jesus healed someone who was blind or sick or crippled,
He didn’t just “fix” the damaged part.
No—He gave them a life in which the sickness no longer belonged.
He planted them in a better story
than the one their suffering had written for them.
That’s why Jesus said to some of them:
“Go, and sin no more.”
Because the healing gave them a new beginning,
not an indestructible body.
They were moved forward,
but still living in a world where sickness and death exist.
3. Lazarus Was Brought Back—But Death Still Existed For Him
Think about Lazarus.
Jesus raised him, but Lazarus did die again later.
Why?
Because Jesus moved Him into a better moment, but still within the same kind of world.
A world with funerals.
A world with sickness.
A world where we grow old.
Jesus gave Lazarus more life— but not eternal life.
4. Jesus’ Resurrection Was Totally Different
But when Jesus Himself rose from the dead, something truly new happened.
His resurrection was not like Lazarus’s.
Not a “second chance” at earthly life.
Not a temporary return.
Jesus rose into a world where death does not exist at all.
He rose into a story where no cross ever hung, where no nails ever pierced Him, where decay and weakness have no home.
This is why the disciples said:
- He appeared out of nowhere.
- The locked doors didn’t stop Him.
- Sometimes they recognized Him; sometimes they didn’t.
- He came and went without needing a place to sleep.
Why?
Because Jesus wasn’t just alive again—He was living in a world that does not operate by the rules of ours.
He was stepping into their world from a place where death has no power.
5. “I Go to Prepare a Place for You” Means More Than a House in Heaven
Jesus said:
“I go to prepare a place for you…
that where I am, there you may be also.”
That was not a poetic way of talking about clouds and golden gates.
He meant something much greater:
“I am going ahead into a world where death cannot touch Me—
and I am preparing that world for you.”
He is getting ready a life for you in which nothing that has ever wounded you gets the final say.
Not tragedy.
Not sickness.
Not age.
Not bad decisions.
Not the grave.
He prepares a place where none of those things have any jurisdiction.
6. Resurrection Is Not God Repairing What This World Broke—
It’s God Giving You the Life This World Could Not Give You
When you die, your story in this world ends.
But resurrection means that God moves you into the story He wrote for you from the beginning—a story where you live, truly live, with no fear of death ever again.
God does not put your soul back into a damaged body. He lifts you up, like a tender gardener, and plants you in the soil of His kingdom, where you become what you were always meant to be.
7. Even the Unborn Will Live
Some people die before they ever have a chance to breathe.
Some before they can walk.
Some before they can choose anything.
Are they forgotten?
No.
God can give them life in a world where they were born, where they live, where they grow, where they flourish.
Because God is not limited by the world that failed them.
8. Your Story Does Not End in the Grave
Beloved, when you die, you will not rise in the same suffering story.
You won’t wake up in a broken world.
God will place you where:
- life wins,
- joy is natural,
- pain is impossible,
- and death has no jurisdiction.
This is resurrection.
This is the promise of Christ.
This is the hope of the gospel.
Jesus was the first to walk into that deathless world.
And He left the door open behind Him.
Conclusion: God Has More Worlds Than Our Wounds
We often ask:
- “How can God bring life after so much has been lost?”
- “How can He restore what time has eaten?”
- “How can He redeem a life that never had a chance to begin?”
Here is the answer:
God has more worlds than our wounds.
More futures than our failures.
More life than death can ever steal.
And Christ—
the Firstborn from the dead—
has gone ahead to prepare your place in the world where nothing dies.
