How do historians explain the empty tomb of Jesus and the reported resurrection appearances if they don't accept the supernatural explanation?

They do not really explain it. Nobody has ever did it successfully. In fact, there is no explanation possible without the supernatural argument to it. It would be easy to write it off on myths, hallucinations, fairy tales, etc. but deep in heart they know this cowardice is wrong. Any historian with a sound mind and consciousness sees how all these details confirm the self-evidence of the events. It is almost impossible to allow that somebody created such a story out of imagination. For example, how to explain the logic in otherwise seemingly full disarray of events. A fictional storyteller naturally would go with the zombie-like Jesus resurrection inside the tomb. I make this judgment only because I see how billions of people are already caught up on this idea even though there is nothing in the story to support it. If there was a zombie-like resurrection why the burial cloths are folded neatly instead of being scattered all around? Why do we need angels to roll the stone away from the outside? Why the guards saw angels but missed to see the elephant in the room, that is the risen Jesus strolling out of the tomb? Why the guards were so petrified seeing angels but not the dead man coming alive? Why do the guards report only about seeing angels and empty tomb? Where did the body of Jesus go then? Why do the chief priests and elders react so strangely to this report, I mean why create a cover-up fictional story of negligence instead of disciplining the lousy guards, right? It is evident that these priests and elders did not apparently believe that somebody really have stolen the body in the presence of guards nor that a zombie is now at large in the public. Why Mary Magdalene has to turn away from the tomb to address Jesus arriving from the opposite direction? Why people who has just seen Jesus three days ago so weirdly can’t no longer recognize him? Why Jesus does not talk even a bit about his experience during the trials, crucifixion and death? Why Jesus show no signs of any trauma whatsoever? Why his most apparent need is actually to get some food to eat? And no, there is no indication that he could walk through the walls, although billions of people would like such a story twist and are already taking it. Simply because if he could walk through the walls he would get past but the fish in his stomach would not. Everything is logic with the accounts despite the urge to write them in a more appealing way. You don’t believe me? This is my challenge then: find or write any alternative story about the resurrection that would be as logical as this one. Any good historian clearly sees that the circumstances being depicted here can be the most strange one can imagine but they still fall down neatly into a comprehensive self-evident story. Clearly this is not a made-up fictional story or we need a genius story teller. But then, what’s the point for such a bizarre story which goes against any natural expectation and approval of the audience to the point that nobody even pays attention to it and instantly overrides with their own rewritten stories. Thereby 99.99% of believing Christians will maintain the zombie-like resurrection at the tomb which is completely unfounded by the very evidence of the holy text they could sacrifice their lives for. Thereby 99.99% of religious opponents will maintain the story of a stolen body which is even more crazy and unfounded. Thereby all other non-religious folks will cowardly run away from this because well, they can’t accept supernatural explanation which the most evident and the only way to explain it.

Who would create a story that people instantly and naturally reject? What genius would do this? What genius would write about the body suddenly vanishing from the tomb without any trace while the cloths neatly fall down due to gravity? What genius story-teller would write about Jesus coming to the tomb from the opposite direction instead of leaving it? What genius would think about consistently maintaining that nobody was able to recognize the same Jesus they spend countless time together and saw him just a few days ago? Why would genius storyteller be the most miserable storyteller one could think off? But if the story is not made-up, historians can’t explain those events. And if so, shame falls on the historians not on the historical events. Whether the historians have to put more effort into it or have courage to admit they can’t explain. And this is not the only event that historians could not properly explain yet they should.
